Lewis, Kendrick attend seminar
Army cadets Jeremy N. Lewis and Julie M. Kendrick were among 267 cadets who attended the 2008 George C. Marshall Foundation Awards Seminar at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va.
At the seminar, cadets participated in focus groups and round table discussions and lectures on the theme of national security issues of the U.S. and the Army’s security role in the international arena. Cadets received formal speeches from the highest echelons of the U.S. Army’s leadership ranks, scholars and experts, and civilian and government officials in the national defense and homeland security arena.
Upon graduation from the host college or university and completion of the ROTC program, the cadets will receive a bachelor’s degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Army.
Lewis recently graduated from Fort Valley State University, Ga.
He is the son of Yvonne Lewis of Shellman, Ga. The cadet is a 2004 graduate of Randolph Clay High School, Cuthbert, Ga.
Kendrick is a senior cadet at Troy University. She is the daughter of John C. and Joyce L. Sanders of Fort Gaines, Ga.
Wheeler promoted
Brandi S. Wheeler has been promoted to the rank of technical sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
Wheeler, a material management craftsman with nine years of military service, is assigned to the 23rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, Ga.
She is the daughter of Rodall and Gloria Wheeler of Clio. The sergeant is a 1996 graduate of Louisville High School.
