Little Miss Eufaula seeks book donations
Little Miss Eufaula Savanna Wood is collecting books to fill up the Accelerated Reader Libraries at the schools.
Some of the books are in bad shape or missing. Wood is working to collect as many books as she can to help this cause.
She loves to read and understands how important it is for other children to have the opportunity to read and learn.
Books can be dropped off at Jones Appraisal/Mossy Oak Properties.

Man charged with shooting uncle
A Quitman County man was arrested Friday evening after allegedly shooting his nephew in the leg.
According to an incident report from the Quitman County Sheriff’s Department, Eddie Parkman of 214 Winding Way Blvd. in Georgetown, shot his nephew, Leon Parkman of Lumpkin. The two men were reportedly arguing about rims for a vehicle.
The report states that Leon asked Eddie about the payment and then turned to walk away. Eddie asked Leon to turn around, and once he did, Eddie reportedly shot Leon in the leg with a 20-gauge shotgun. The incident occurred at 187 Winding Way Blvd.
The victim was taken to Medical Center Barbour, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Eddie was charged with aggravated assault, a felony, and later released on bond.
Other matters
A Georgetown man reported theft of approximately $212 from his office Saturday.
A resident of Hwy. 27 reported vandalism to his 2006 Nissan Titan truck. He said that someone came to his residence and poured a chemical on the front of his truck.
