The Purple Violets had their monthly luncheon meeting at the Country Club of Eufaula on Wednesday.
The group of women, age 55 or older, meet each month to fellowship and have fun—or as Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly likes to put it, “meet, eat and have fun.”
The ladies discussed everything from grandchildren, Hershey’s new chocolate recipe and, of course, red hats.
The group is a Red Hat Society consisting of 12 members. They are Jo Ann Brown, who is serving as Queen Mother this year, Elizabeth Kelly, Bobbye Kincade, Betty Davis, Betty Hall, Dean Richardson, Dot Turner, Sarah Spires, Ruby Methvin, Laura Norton, Jonna Carpenter and Joan Munn.
The ladies shared a nice lunch and an even nicer time of fellowship together.
What do the Red Hat ladies do? Their website says the answer is “nothing.”
It’s a society for women who have shouldered responsibility most of their lives to just come and enjoy friendships and fun times.
