81 indicted on drug charges

A special grand jury indicted 81 individuals on various drug charges yesterday morning. Following the indictments, the Eufaula Police Department arrested approximately 20 of the individuals indicted yesterday afternoon.
The indictments were the culmination of an undercover operation conducted by the EPD over the past three months. A substantial amount of drugs, money and vehicles were seized as part of the operation. More arrests are expected to follow.
“This is just the first phase,” said EPD Chief J.C. West.
