The Wallace Community College Sparks Foundation is currently accepting applications for fall scholarships.
Applications with complete instructions are available at the Sparks Campus financial aid office in the administration building or on the College’s Web site, http://www.wallace.edu.
The application deadline is Aug. 4. The following scholarships are available fall semester for the Sparks Campus:
The Bush/Willis Scholarship offers two $1,500 scholarships to cover tuition, instructional fees and books for one year ($500 per semester).
The Connie M. Garrison Scholarship will award $500 for tuition, fees and books for one semester.
The Dempsey and Frances Boyd Scholarship is a $1500 award given to a Barbour County resident enrolled in the computer information sciences, office administration or accounting programs. The recipient must have no other financial assistance. The scholarship covers tuition, fees and books at $500 per semester.
The Eufaula/Barbour County Chamber Existing Industries Scholarship offers two $2,500 scholarships to Alabama residents enrolled in drafting and design technology, welding technology, industrial electronics technology concentrations, electrical technology, business and office information processing concentrations or computer information science concentrations.
The applicant must demonstrate financial need and the assistance covers tuition, fees and books depending on available funds.
The Eufaula/Georgetown Ministerial Association Scholarship offers $640 to be awarded based on the WCC Sparks Campus Foundation Scholarship recommendations to a single parent (preferably a female) who demonstrates financial need. The assistance covers tuition, fees, books and supplies.
The Joel P. and Ann Sutton Smith Scholarship will award $1,500 ($500 per semester) to a Barbour County student who demonstrates financial need.
The Dr. John M. Jackson Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship that awards $500 per semester to cover tuition, fees and books for two semesters.
The Kiwanis Club Scholarship is awarded to an applicant who demonstrates financial need. Preference is given to students who have excelled academically and have been active in community and/or College activities. The scholarship provides $500 for tuition, fees, books and instructional supplies for one semester.
The Lenoree S. and Robert H. Bennett, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is a $1,500 ($500 per semester) award for a (preferably western) Barbour County student. The recipient must demonstrate financial need.
The Mary C. and Robert M. Dixon, Sr. Scholarship awards $1,500 ($500 per semester) to cover tuition, fees and books for three semesters.
The Sparks Foundation Scholarship is two $1,500 ($500 per term) scholarships awarded to cover tuition, fees and books for three terms.
The Wallace Community College Sparks Foundation is a nonprofit corporation led by a board of trustees which raises and disperses funds to assist the college in delivering educational services.
Last year, the Sparks Foundation awarded 21 students with scholarships.
