Local assaulted with ‘buggy’
An argument over Fourth of July plans resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Eufaula man Friday after he reportedly assaulted his wife with a shopping cart at Piggly Wiggly on South Eufaula Avenue.
According to the report, during the argument the man’s wife tried to walk away. He then pushed the cart into her legs causing injury to her legs and knees.
A 1-year-old child was also in the cart at the time. The man was arrested and charged with domestic violence assault third degree and domestic violence reckless endangerment because the child was in the shopping cart.
Two arrested on drug charges
The Eufaula Police Department arrested Marquis Cordeion White, 26, of 28 Weston Road in Louisville on charges of felony possession of marijuana first degree Thursday.
Police were attempting to execute a warrant for probation violation when officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana in the State Docks Road residence where White was staying.
Upon investigation, a K-9 unit found four plastic sandwich bags of marijuana ($500) hidden in a back bedroom of the residence.
Also arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana first degree was Kadrienne Latifa Eutsey, 26, of 28 Weston Road in Louisville.
Property thefts
Whigham Garage reported theft of two catalytic converters ($600) and damage to a third converter ($400) occurring Wednesday night. Capt. Tim Marsh of the EPD stated that similar crimes involving converters have been occurring frequently in other cities but is fairly new to the Eufaula area.
B.F. Motors reported theft of a red tool tray with sockets and a wrench ($30) and a tray of other assorted tools and wrenches ($19) occurring between Tuesday and Thursday of last week.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested Thursday for shoplifting three snack cakes ($1.05) from the Piggly Wiggly on U.S. Hwy. 431 South.
A South Randolph Avenue resident reported that his girlfriend stole $125 in cash and change from him while he was sleeping Friday night. According to the report, he was going to use the money to pay his light bill.
Food Depot reported theft of six 12-packs of Bud Light beer ($70) occurring Friday.
According to a police report, the offender took the beer through a second listed offender’s checkout line and did not pay for the items. The first offender stated to police that he was going back inside to pay for the beer but the officer noted he did not have enough money with him to pay for it.
A man and a woman reportedly stole $49 from the USA Travel Center on Saturday. They then attempted to do the same at the Herndon Shell station but were caught and arrested.
A Dale Road resident reported that someone broke into his storage shed and took some clothes ($250), checks, a small television ($50) and a set of jumper cables ($50). The incident occurred sometime between Monday, June 16, and Sunday.
Miscellaneous
The Medicine Shoppe reported criminal possession of a forged instrument for a stolen prescription someone tried to fill in the store on Thursday. The prescription was for Percocet.
A Eufaula man reported that someone busted out the rear window of his vehicle on Thursday night. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle at the time of the report. The incident occurred at a Meadow Lane residence.
Traffic report
The Eufaula Police Department reported 50 traffic arrests between Thursday and Monday mornings, including 13 for speeding, 8 for no proof of insurance, 6 for no seat belts, 3 each for running a stop sign, no driver’s license, driving while suspended and improper tag, 2 each for failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, improper equipment and leaving the scene of an accident, and 1 each for DUI, reckless driving, running a red light, driving with an expired license and violation of license restrictions. They also investigated 11 accidents during the reporting period.
