A five-run fifth inning helped the Cardinals edge the Reds 11-9 Tuesday in Instructional League action.
Hunter Sumnicht led the charge with a 3-for-3 effort.
Kyler Wells and Drew Taylor were each 2-for-2 at the plate in the win.
Hugh Dollar, Isaac Paige and Jonathan Wilson were each 2-for-2 at the plate for the Reds.
Brewers 11, Dodgers 5
The Brewers scored two runs in each of the first four innings and tacked on three more in the fifth inning to cruise to an 11-5 win against the Dodgers Tuesday in Instructional League play.
Michael Lewis and Austin Johnson were each 2-for-2 to lead the Brewer offense while Seth Welch was 1-for-1 in the win.
Nolan Watkins led the Dodgers with a 2-for-2 effort.
Drew Benefield and Caleb Williams were each 1-for-1 for the Dodgers in the loss.
